Liam Gallagher has just announced that he will never go to Glastonbury again. His main gripe is that the sound systems are way too quiet. We think he may just have a point, it seems to us that sound systems are getting politer each year and it won’t be long before they are done away with and all songs will be ’performed’ via the art of mime, or possibly just sign language.

So here we are with some friendly advice for the organisers of these large outdoor events. If you can’t turn it up to a decent volume, why not tell people beforehand exactly how quiet it is going to be and reduce the ticket price accordingly? The bands will no doubt have to charge a smaller fee, but £10 or £20 pounds to stand in a field and hear your favourite band play at a level your Mum would be happy with will feel like much less of a total rip off.
